Role Overview
As an HR Advisor, you will act as a key contact in a centralized HR service delivery setup, supporting associates and people leaders across all 50 states. The position handles employee questions and concerns from start to finish in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, performance management, labor law compliance, and risk reduction.
Success in this role requires a solid grasp of HR policies, tools, and resources, along with strong consulting ability and proven experience resolving complex people issues.
Employee Relations and Case Handling
- Act as the main contact for associate and leader inquiries, taking cases from intake through investigation, resolution, and closure.
- Advise on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and employee relations topics.
Performance Management and Discipline
- Work with people leaders to create and review objective, legally supportable performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions, ensuring appropriate support is in place for employees.
- Review and approve performance plans and disciplinary steps so they align with company policy and are applied consistently.
- Coach leaders on documentation, communication, and performance management practices.
Termination Risk Review and Support
- Assess involuntary termination requests for potential risk.
- Offer guidance and recommendations so leadership decisions are well documented and defensible.
- Support leaders in preparing for and conducting termination conversations.
Leave of Absence Support
- Explain leave procedures and available support options such as FMLA, ADA, and company leave policies, and follow up to confirm associate understanding.
- Partner with leaders and centers of excellence when associates do not return from leave or fail to secure required approvals.
ADA and Interactive Process
- Lead the accommodation interactive process in line with ADA requirements.
- Collaborate with associates and leaders to assess accommodations and determine reasonable solutions.
- Keep thorough documentation throughout the accommodation review process.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of HR experience centered on employee relations, case management, or HR advisory work.
- Experience supporting employees across multiple states or a nationwide workforce.
- Strong understanding of employment law, including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and general employee relations practices.
- Proven ability to evaluate risk and provide practical, defensible recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills, including the ability to de-escalate issues and guide parties toward workable outcomes.
- Good business judgment for making people decisions in operational settings.
- Ability to influence people leaders with policy-aligned guidance and sound judgment in complex employee relations and performance management situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Compensation and Bonus
The annual base salary for this U.S.-based role ranges from $52,025.00 to $97,528.69, with final pay determined by role level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for the annual bonus plan with a target of 5.00%.
