About the Opportunity
This role is with Heritage Inn, part of CHSGa, in Statesboro, Georgia. It is a full-time, on-site daytime position in a non-profit, mission-focused setting where employees are supported, appreciated, and recognized for the essential care work they perform every day.

Key Duties
- Keep tile flooring clean by sweeping, damp mopping, and wet mopping; when needed, carry out spray buffing, stripping, or waxing in line with center procedures and safety signage requirements.
- Notify the supervisor about carpeted spaces that require cleaning or spot treatment.
- Vacuum carpeted areas where applicable.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces in patient rooms, including furniture, bed frames, and windowsills, while following center procedures and using wet floor signs as required.
- Remove trash, clean bins inside and out, and replace liners with fresh ones.
- Clean sinks, fixtures, toilets, and other bathroom surfaces according to center procedures.
- Wash mirrors, glass, pictures, and windows.
- Clean underneath and behind furniture and other fixtures.
- Move furniture as needed to complete cleaning behind and beneath it, following center rules.
- Turn mattresses after cleaning is completed.
- Clean dining areas after breakfast and lunch, including wiping tables, sweeping, and mopping.
- Replace soiled privacy curtains and outside window draperies when necessary.
- Take down and rehang outside curtains and draperies using a ladder when needed.
- Sweep porches, walkways, and outdoor areas, and pick up litter or other improperly discarded waste.
- Work according to the cleaning schedule assigned by the supervisor.
- Follow infection prevention standards during all cleaning tasks.
- Use isolation procedures such as gowns, gloves, and specialized cleaning methods when required.
- Respect patient rights while cleaning rooms and handle belongings with dignity and care.
- Store chemicals safely, keeping them locked away or under direct supervision.
- Follow the safety directions listed on chemical MSDS documentation.
- Help care for housekeeping tools, materials, and storage areas.
- Clean and store equipment properly at the end of each shift using established procedures.
- Inspect equipment before use to ensure safe operation.
- Report any equipment needing repair to the Maintenance Department.
- Keep bathrooms stocked with necessary supplies such as soap, lotion, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
- Prevent and remove wax or dirt buildup around corners, baseboards, and doorways.
- Support the organization’s reputation through servant leadership and open communication.
- Take part in committees, workgroups, project efforts, and other collaborative activities as needed.
- Carry out additional duties as required to support the success of the system.
Skills and Knowledge
- Basic understanding of cleaning methods and chemical safety.
- Comfortable communicating with associates, patients, families, and visitors in a warm, respectful, and helpful manner.
- Ability to respond professionally to concerns and questions.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is preferred.

- Ability to prepare routine written reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively with groups of customers or associates.

- Ability to apply common-sense judgment to written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and handle routine problems in standardized situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is required.
- Physical work may involve sitting, talking, hearing, walking, standing, and using hands and arms to handle, reach, or feel objects. Close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus are needed.
