Role summary

The housekeeper will help keep the community clean, safe, and pleasant for residents, staff, and visitors. This role centers on maintaining sanitation and hygiene standards throughout shared areas and resident living spaces, while also supporting a welcoming atmosphere through courteous interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular cleaning across resident rooms, shared spaces, dining areas, and office areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, such as sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors.
• Remove trash and recycling, then replace liners as needed.
• Wash and restock linens, towels, and similar items when required.
• Work according to the community’s cleaning plan, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Interact politely with residents and help build positive day-to-day relationships.
• Respect resident privacy, preferences, and personal space during cleaning activities.
• Escalate maintenance concerns, safety issues, or changes in resident needs to a supervisor.
• Use cleaning tools and chemicals carefully and strictly follow product instructions.
• Apply infection prevention and sanitation practices, including proper waste handling and disposal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year of housekeeping experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality/hotel settings.
• Strong eye for detail and a consistent focus on cleanliness.
• Good organization and time-management skills.
• Professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Helpful knowledge of cleaning agents and equipment is an advantage.
• Ability to protect confidentiality and follow ethical standards.
