Home Support Worker

Role overview

As a Home Support Worker, you’ll help community members remain safe and comfortable in their own homes by assisting with routine daily activities and personal care.

Training and growth

You’ll be enrolled in a 3-week classroom training program that is both free and paid, built to prepare you for the Home Support Worker role. Once you complete the program, you’ll qualify for full-time hours and benefits.

Key duties

• Drive between client homes and complete several visits each day
• Plan and prepare meals, and help during mealtimes
• Handle light housekeeping tasks
• Offer companionship and contribute to client well-being
• Support bathing, showering, and other personal hygiene needs
• Assist with basic daily living activities

What we’re looking for

• Strong compassion and active listening skills
• A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the community
• Readiness to travel to client homes within a set service area
• Availability to work every other weekend
• Experience with seniors and/or children is considered an advantage
• Ability to clear a criminal background screening at the time of hire
• Prior personal hygiene care experience is helpful but not required
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
• High school diploma or equivalent

Compensation details list the base rate as $17.60 per hour, while other role information states pay can be up to $21.85 per hour after training. Final salary may vary based on skills, experience, education, and fit for the position.
