Role overview
This is a first-of-its-kind growth leadership opening for a fast-scaling, venture-funded AI company. The role sits close to the CEO and senior leadership, with responsibility for creating the customer acquisition function from scratch and shaping how the business expands revenue across channels. It is based in San Francisco or New York City and offers a salary range of $160,000–$200,000 plus equity.
Rather than a conventional marketing position, this is a commercial growth role focused on building, testing, measuring and scaling acquisition systems. The successful hire will work across Product, Engineering, Sales and Operations to uncover opportunities, run experiments and contribute to the company’s long-term go-to-market direction.
What you will do
- Define and deliver the company’s growth plan across several acquisition channels.
- Set up and improve outbound campaigns using current automation and go-to-market tools.
- Own conversion optimisation for the website, landing page experiments and user acquisition initiatives.
- Run SEO efforts alongside paid acquisition activity.
- Explore and launch new channels, partnerships and customer acquisition opportunities.
- Plan, execute and review fast-moving growth experiments with measurable outcomes.
- Create reporting, attribution models and dashboards to track performance through the funnel.
- Turn successful tests into scalable, repeatable and automated growth systems.
- Work with Engineering and Product on growth-oriented product enhancements.
- Collaborate directly with the CEO on strategic commercial projects.
- Study market trends, customer behaviour and competitor activity to identify opportunities.
- Use commercial insight to help shape wider business strategy.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate is a strong operator who has already delivered meaningful results in a high-growth startup setting. Experience in venture-backed businesses, ideally at Seed to Series B stage, is especially relevant.
- 2–4 years of experience in Growth, Growth Strategy, Revenue Operations, Business Operations or a comparable commercial function.
- Background in a venture-backed startup environment, preferably Seed through Series B.
- Proven ability to deliver measurable commercial impact independently.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to guide decisions.
- Hands-on experience running structured experiments and iterating quickly based on results.
- Sound commercial judgement and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous settings with limited direction.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence colleagues across functions.
- Exposure to modern GTM tools such as HubSpot, Clay, Unify or similar platforms is a plus.
- Interest in AI, automation or technology-led businesses would be helpful.
