Role overview

Priceline is hiring a Front-End Developer to join its technology organization in Toronto, Ontario. The position follows a hybrid arrangement with two in-office days per week, while the remaining days can be worked remotely or from the office based on team planning.

What you will do

• Contribute to projects that directly affect the direction and growth of the business.
• Work on an agile cross-functional team that regularly experiments, improves, and ships new product goals.
• Build customer-facing features using React and JavaScript, and connect them to GraphQL APIs.
• Support broader full-stack efforts and help deliver transactional services that are fast, scalable, and supported by continuous integration and automated testing.
• Use SQL composition skills to gather and query data for real-time investigation and analysis across applications.
• Learn the codebase, systems, and business needs deeply enough to make effective application changes.
• Collaborate openly with teammates, advocate for strong solutions, and work respectfully through differing viewpoints when needed.

What the company is looking for

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or an equivalent background, along with at least 4 years of JavaScript experience on consumer-facing products. You should be comfortable working with a modern client-side JavaScript framework or library such as React, Angular, or Ember.

Experience building applications with Node.js is expected, including a practical understanding of how Node works and familiarity with common libraries such as Express. The role also requires the ability to build and consume GraphQL APIs, along with comfort in functional programming.

You should be able to write semantic, accessible markup and style, and it is a plus if you have worked with Styled Components or a comparable CSS-in-JS approach. Strong software engineering habits are important, including unit testing and peer code review.

Compensation

The stated salary range for this role is CAD 100,000 to CAD 120,000 per year. Depending on the role, candidates may also be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.
