About the Role
St Vincent's Private Hospital is seeking a dedicated Day and Night Porter to join the Portering Department for a 1-year fixed-term contract. This full-time, onsite position involves a 39-hour work week, operating across seven days. The role is crucial in supporting hospital operations and ensuring the smooth delivery of patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive general portering services.
- Be available to work rotating day and night shifts as scheduled.
- Safely transport patients across the hospital campus according to established policies.
- Deliver specimens, medications, and portable gases as per the job specification and hospital procedures.
- Maintain effective communication and handovers with the Portering Officer, Supervisors, and colleagues.
- Report any health and safety concerns promptly to the Portering Officer or the appropriate department.
- Adhere to all statutory legislation and departmental policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and days to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Assist in other departments as a member of the facilities team, with potential for role variation.
- Receive comprehensive training for all duties.
Additional Information
Remuneration will be in line with the salary scale approved by the Department of Health & Children.
