Role overview
This retail position is based in Athlone and reports to the Shop Manager. The main purpose of the role is to create a positive experience for customers by combining a friendly manner, strong product knowledge, and reliable day-to-day support in the shop.
You will help keep the store running smoothly, uphold high presentation and service standards, handle bets accurately, and support the team with shop operations. The role also includes opening and closing responsibilities and, from time to time, stepping into a shop management capacity.
Key duties
- Support the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager with daily shop operations.
- Take charge of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager when needed.
- Handle opening and closing tasks for the store.
- Guide and support the shop team during shifts.
- Carry out cash handling and related control procedures.
- Process customer bets correctly and promptly using betting terminals, EPOS, and other shop channels.
- Represent the brand well and help customers understand the company’s digital and multi-channel offerings.
- Maintain a high standard of shop presentation throughout the working day.
- Follow all safety, compliance, and operational procedures at all times.
- Work under pressure while staying calm and focused on improving performance.
- Promote responsible social practices and comply with social responsibility duties.
- Encourage customers to explore in-shop and online products and services.
- Use training and on-the-job learning to build skills and progress within the business.
