About the role
Qantas, founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, has grown into Australia’s largest regional, domestic, and international airline. Alongside its core airline brands, Qantas and Jetstar, the Group also operates a number of subsidiary businesses that help keep the wider operation running smoothly.
This full-time, permanent position is based in Mascot, Sydney and follows a Monday to Friday day-shift schedule. You’ll be part of a fast-moving, collaborative team where the focus is on planning ahead, working efficiently, and supporting strong customer outcomes through careful, cost-conscious decision-making.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate Flight Crew training schedules and related logistics so training capacity is used as efficiently as possible.
- Build practical plans for each roster cycle and adjust them when operational requirements change.
- Create rosters that support the delivery of the business training program.
- Make sure scheduling activity aligns with legal, regulatory, industrial award, and company policy requirements.
- Improve roster planning processes so they work well for key internal stakeholders.
- Maintain efficient training patterns that fit current operational rosters in both planned and live operating environments.
What we’re looking for
To succeed in this role, you should be comfortable working as part of a team, staying focused under pressure, and handling competing priorities with professionalism. Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills are important, along with the confidence to work across different levels of the business.
You’ll also need solid computer skills, especially in Microsoft products, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing operational needs. Previous exposure to flying program, crew, and business requirements will be valuable. Qualifications in Aviation, Business, or Logistics are preferred, as is familiarity with the Australian industrial framework, company policy, CASA regulations, and training systems such as Jeppesen or ARMS.
Eligibility
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia or New Zealand without restriction or sponsorship. Qantas welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and from people of all backgrounds.
Why join Qantas
Qantas supports growth, learning, and internal mobility, giving employees opportunities to develop their careers in different directions. From day one, you’ll receive on-the-job training and coaching, supported by formal learning opportunities.
