Role Overview

This Business Analyst position is centered on business operations with a strong focus on AI and analytics. The role partners closely with Marketing, Business Development, and Community Investment teams to identify opportunities, define solution scopes, and create tools that support better efficiency and decision-making. It is embedded in core business functions rather than IT, with responsibilities spanning dashboard creation and the adoption of emerging technologies to convert business needs into practical technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support reporting needs across Marketing & Communications, Business Development, and Community Investment. You will also develop and maintain Tableau dashboards, transforming information from CRM platforms, market research, and internal systems into usable insights. Another part of the job involves assessing and implementing new tools such as member APIs and interactive calculators, while translating business requirements into technical documentation for IT teams.

You will use AI to improve business intelligence workflows and make reporting faster and more efficient. The position also includes supporting membership strategy work in collaboration with Marketing, Business Development, and Community Investment teams, along with financial statement analysis used for member benchmarking. In addition, you will assist with SEC financial reporting and FHLBank System analytics, including peer comparison work.

Additional duties include preparing materials for the Board, executive leadership, and internal committees, and the role may include serving as committee secretary. You will also broaden your cross-functional understanding by working with teams in Operations, Capital Markets, Community Investment, and Corporate Risk. Throughout all work, you are expected to follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. An MBA is considered an added advantage. The employer is looking for someone with at least 3 years of relevant business experience, preferably 4 or more, with prior exposure to banking or financial services and hands-on work in business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.

Strong knowledge of economic and finance fundamentals is important. Advanced ability in Tableau or comparable BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Qlik is required. Familiarity with SQL, Python, or SaaS programming is also desired, along with awareness of emerging AI technologies and how to integrate them into workflows. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is expected. The role further calls for excellent organization, project management ability, careful attention to detail, and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Candidates must be open to working onsite in the Greater Pittsburgh Region. The employer is not considering C2C, relocation, referral, or sponsorship candidates for this position.
