Role overview

This contract role is focused on building and delivering Tempo Structure boards in a Jira Data Center environment. Core work

• Pick up new board requests promptly and run lightweight discovery to understand scope and expectations.
• Develop Tempo Structure boards for multiple management use cases, such as work progress tracking, objectives alignment, planning views, and capacity visibility.
• Create views that help leadership monitor delivery flow, WIP, throughput, and team progress.
• Build tactical OKR and objectives tracking boards that connect work items to strategic goals in a simple, readable format.
• Design consolidated planning views for quarterly or yearly commitments and progress tracking.
• Produce capacity-focused boards that show resourcing and allocation across teams or time periods.
• Handle other urgent structural board needs as they emerge from leadership priorities.

Stakeholder engagement

• Work directly with senior leaders and management stakeholders to verify requirements and confirm priorities before development begins.
• Convert broad or loosely defined business requests into clear, workable Tempo Structure configurations.
• Explain timelines, limitations, and delivery trade-offs in a straightforward way.
• Be prepared to identify when a request cannot be delivered exactly as asked because of Jira Data Center configuration limits or data availability.

Technical expectations

• Advanced hands-on expertise with Tempo Structure, including boards, columns, swim lanes, and views.
• Strong understanding of Jira Data Center, including project types, issue hierarchies, custom fields, and data structure.
• Ability to quickly learn an unfamiliar Jira Data Center setup and assess what is feasible for a given request.
• Experience creating boards that support planning and management workflows, including quarterly planning, OKR tracking, capacity views, and strategy boards.
