Astrophysics Specialist

About the Role

This contract opportunity is for a Physics PhD-level specialist to support an AI research effort. The work is fully remote and is centered on creating difficult physics problems and producing high-quality training data for advanced language-model systems.

What You’ll Do

• Design demanding problems across Statistical Mechanics, Condensed Matter Physics, AMO Physics, and related areas.
• Help with a project built around cutting-edge large language models.
• Generate reliable, high-value data that can help shape future AI development.
• Coordinate with AI research teams to keep outputs accurate and useful.
• Operate independently and in an asynchronous workflow while meeting deadlines for assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Physics is required.
• A graduate degree from the US, UK, Canada, or Western Europe is required.
• Strong precision and careful attention to detail are essential.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills are expected.
• Fluency in English is necessary.

Additional Information

The role is based remotely and asks for a commitment of 4 to 6 tasks each week. Compensation is set at $85 per hour. The intended start month is February, and applications are considered on a rolling basis.
