Education & Experience
A four-year bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required. No prior work experience is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Support purchasing operations across departments by helping generate accurate, timely reports, presentations, and other outputs.
- Compile, code, sort, calculate, audit, and validate data and records as needed.
- Help maintain sanitation compliance and uphold required safety practices.
- Work with the Executive Chef on food, beverage, and other controllable purchases to protect quality and profitability.
- Place food and beverage orders based on business demand.
- Assist in keeping food and controllable costs within or below budget.
- Help enforce first-in, first-out rotation for all storeroom inventory.
- Maintain sanitation, safety, and brand-standard requirements.
- Ensure safeguards are in place to protect food and beverage storeroom assets.
- Work with storeroom staff and kitchen leadership to minimize inventory by encouraging item usage.
- Coordinate with kitchen teams, restaurant management, and suppliers so delivery timing supports food production needs.
- Verify incoming invoices against received goods for quantity, quality, weight, and purchase specification accuracy.
- Use existing software tools to calculate daily and period-end food and beverage costs.
- Maintain inventory controls, including stock levels, dating, rotation, and requisitions.
- Complete administrative duties on time, including C-7s, menu costing, and general office work.
- Finish period-end inventory in line with Food and Beverage and Accounting standard procedures.
- Prepare food and beverage inventory calculations.
- Escalate pricing and product availability concerns to the F&B Director and Executive Chef when needed.
- Assist with receiving and checking all deliveries.
- Keep an accurate controllable log and beverage perpetual records.
- Ensure invoices are handled accurately and bookkeeping rules are followed.
Accounting Knowledge & Performance Expectations
- Apply role-relevant knowledge of products, systems, procedures, and accounting issues.
- Use computers and software tools to enter data, configure functions, process information, and support related work.
- Use judgment and available information to confirm compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.
- Stay current with technical updates and apply new learning on the job.
- Work with knowledge and proficiency aligned to A.S.I. standards.
- Submit reports on time and meet delivery deadlines.
- Ensure profits and losses are recorded correctly.
- Work toward and exceed targets related to performance, budget, and team objectives.
- Set clear goals and plans to organize priorities and complete work effectively.
- Track applicable taxes to ensure they are current, collected, and/or accrued properly.
Additional Responsibilities
- Share information with supervisors, peers, and subordinates by phone, writing, email, or in person.
- Review information and outcomes to identify the best solution and resolve issues.
- Work closely with kitchen staff, vendors, and the Executive Chef.
- Use existing software effectively to post invoices and update items and costs.
- Attend and contribute to relevant meetings.
- Guide other departments on accounting and budgeting policies, procedures, and the efficient use of financial resources.
- Keep executives, peers, and subordinates informed in a timely way.
