Accounting Assistant

What you will do

• Support the finance team with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Handle invoices, expense claims, and payment processing efficiently and on schedule.
• Carry out bank reconciliations and help keep financial records complete and accurate.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing work.
• Help prepare financial statements and reports.
• Keep accounting systems and supporting documentation updated.
• Coordinate with internal teams and outside vendors on finance-related queries.
• Follow company procedures and comply with relevant financial rules and regulations.

What the employer is looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• Previous experience in a comparable position; retail background is advantageous.
• Solid grasp of fundamental accounting concepts.
• Confident use of Excel and accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Strong focus on accuracy and detail.
• Well-developed organisation and time management abilities.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

Preferred background

• Exposure to retail or FMCG operations.
• Experience handling large transaction volumes.
• Interest in, or progress toward, professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA or CPA.
