Role overview
This role sits within the RSME portfolio and focuses on managing client relationships, loan repricing, credit due diligence reviews, service support, and business risk control activities. The position requires close coordination with internal teams to keep customer requests moving, maintain portfolio quality, and support operational risk management across the unit.
Client-facing portfolio management
- Oversee the RSME loans portfolio, excluding trade accounts.
- Lead repricing activities as a retention and anti-attrition effort, handling the process from start to finish.
- Carry out periodic and event-based CDD reviews and assessments.
- Review and process AA submissions for RSME credit requests such as changes in structure, ownership, guarantors, security arrangements, and other requests requiring AA review.
- Handle RSME accounts under litigation, exceptional review cases, and adverse news triggers in line with the Portfolio Management Framework, including Simplified Review and Full Review cases.
- Provide day-to-day servicing support for customers, including statement requests, redemptions, prepayments, consent letters, and interest calculation enquiries.
- Manage data ratification, record updates, and renewal AAs for overseas properties and SBLCs under the RSME segment.
- Process facility redemptions and cancellations for RSME AAs.
- Identify cross-sell opportunities and refer customers to other Maybank teams or units.
- Support business administration by updating the ESIMS portal for borrower constitution, status, or shareholder changes, and generating EFS trade renewal letters.
Risk, controls, and business continuity
- Serve as the SME Banking BCRO representative and act as the appointed Business Risks Control Officer for RSME.
- Ensure risk assessment reports are submitted on time and review operational risks and related mitigating controls.
- Assess ORA findings and advise project or process owners on inherent risks and possible mitigation steps.
- Act as BCP coordinator for CBD.
- Maintain and update the Standard Operating Procedure documentation.
- Review annual Risk Assessment, Business Impact Analysis, BCP, Pandemic Plan, BCM Attestation, and Level of Disruption at unit level to support business continuity.
- Keep staff contact lists current for call tree exercises and BCP activation.
- Coordinate RCSA activities, including risk discussions with process experts and the Unit Head.
- Perform escalation and RIF entry, including updates in IMDC.
- Refresh the SOP manual regularly and document process improvements, revised procedures, and closure of identified gaps.
Requirements
The role calls for a minimum diploma in Business, Accounting, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline. The candidate must be a certified NFR Practitioner to perform BRCO responsibilities. Experience should include less than 3 years in CDD and ECDD review work, less than 3 years in repricing and business support, and 3 to 5 years in control identification for operational risk assessments and BCP-related work, as well as AA review experience. Strong analytical ability, implementation capability, customer focus, interpersonal communication, logical thinking, and proficiency with MS Office are essential. The successful candidate should also be comfortable managing multiple priorities, driving change across a complex environment, and working with diverse stakeholders while demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and the TIGER values.
