Role overview
Windward Management Limited is hiring an Accommodation Assistant for The Fleet Hotel at 19/20 Fleet Street, Dublin. This role sits within the accommodation team and works directly with the Accommodation Manager and Accommodation Supervisors.
About The Fleet Hotel
The Fleet Hotel is a boutique hotel in central Dublin, close to Temple Bar. It is housed in a set of historic buildings that include the well-known Bewleys Café site, a location that has been part of Dublin’s story for many years. Before becoming The Fleet Hotel, the property at 19/20 Fleet Street was home to Bewley’s Café, founded by Ernest Bewley in 1905. Bewleys became widely known as one of Europe’s leading tea houses and a long-time favourite among Dubliners.
Primary purpose of the role
The main purpose of this position is to clean, service, and maintain guest rooms and public areas to the hotel’s approved standards, helping ensure guests enjoy a comfortable and memorable stay.
Key duties
- Report for duty and identify the rooms or areas assigned for cleaning or servicing by Accommodation Management.
- Work in line with the company’s established procedures and operating standards.
- Keep all public areas clean and well maintained.
- Operate assigned vehicles safely and exactly as instructed.
- Maintain departmental equipment and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Clean corridors, including glass fire doors.
- Carry out deep-clean tasks according to the standard operating procedures and required schedule.
- Raise any maintenance issues or defects that could affect guest satisfaction or the safety of the building.
- Place in-room amenities such as water, gifts, and fruit in line with hotel standards and protocols.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to guest privacy and comfort requests.
- Handle wet waste, glass, and recyclable materials safely and dispose of them properly.
- Attend weekly meetings or briefings when requested by Accommodation Management.
- Stay alert to guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge guests in a professional manner.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with other team members.
- Follow all systems and procedures in place.
- Work flexible schedules, including day, evening, and weekend shifts, as required by the seasonal and business needs of the hotel.
- Take part in training programmes as required.
Requirements
The preferred candidate should have at least 1 year of experience working as an Accommodation Assistant in a 4-star hotel environment.
