Yard Spotter - Night

Role overview

This night-shift Yard Driver, Non-CDL position supports the movement of trailers across company property and nearby facilities. The work involves relocating tractor-trailers between loading docks, parking areas, and offsite maintenance or inspection locations while following safety rules and DOT standards.

Schedule and pay

The shift runs Sunday through Thursday, starting at 4:00 pm and continuing until the work is completed. Starting compensation is $17.50 per hour.

What the job involves

In this role, you will help keep trailers moving efficiently so deliveries and yard operations stay on schedule. You will be expected to handle equipment carefully, communicate clearly with coworkers, vendors, and customers, and contribute as a dependable member of the team.

• Inspect trailers and move them safely in line with DOT rules and company driving policies
• Fuel tractors, reposition tractors and trailers, and place them at docks as needed
• Drive trailers to local maintenance or inspection locations when required
• Secure trucks, trailers, and related equipment, and complete the needed paperwork
• Take on additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• At least 6 months of driving experience
• Internal candidates may qualify with under 6 months of experience if they have a strong performance record and meet driver training program standards
• Ability to work the assigned schedule and any required overtime
• Valid non-commercial driver’s license
• Any state licensing or certification needed for the location
• Clean motor vehicle record for the last 3 years
• Successful completion of a post-offer drug screen and criminal background check

Additional information

This position is based in Clanton, Alabama and is a full-time onsite role. It is intended for a night-shift operation supporting food service distribution.
