Overview

This position is based in Dubai and requires relocation. The company is seeking a VP of Data & Analytics to build and scale its data function from the ground up inside a fast-growing consumer business.

This is not a conventional BI or reporting leadership role. Data sits at the heart of the product, and the organization has a distinctive, highly valuable dataset in its market. The remit is to create a strong data platform, deliver usable intelligence, and support revenue growth through better decisions and new commercial opportunities. An existing team will be in place, and the role involves expanding that team, improving the platform, raising data quality and governance standards, and helping the business unlock value from data.

The right person will combine strong technical depth with a commercial mindset. The company is looking for someone who can still get hands-on when needed, has experience building data organizations from scratch, and understands how to move from early-stage disorder to scalable execution.

Key responsibilities

Set the overall data direction and turn it into an actionable execution plan.
Design and implement a modern, AI-ready data platform along with a semantic layer.
Put in place strong data quality, governance, observability, and trustworthy metrics.
Oversee data ingestion, warehousing, and multi-tenant architecture work.
Lead BI, analytics, forecasting, and customer-facing data products.
Work closely with senior leaders to surface growth ideas and commercial insights.
Grow and coach a high-performing data team while using AI to improve speed and output.

Candidate profile

At least 15 years of experience working with modern data platforms, data architecture, SQL, and data modelling.
Practical experience with contemporary cloud-based data stacks.
Proven ability to build and scale data teams in startup or similarly fast-moving environments.
Strong background in data modelling, warehousing, and analytics.
Ability to turn data into business impact and growth opportunities.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and a strong executive presence.
Track record of building, scaling, and leading high-performing teams.
Genuine interest in AI-enabled data platforms and next-generation analytics.

Nice to have

Experience with predictive analytics, forecasting, churn analysis, and LTV modelling.
Exposure to SaaS, analytics products, or multi-tenant technology environments.

Additional information

This role requires relocation to Dubai.
