The Carrigtwohill facility in Cork is a modern bulk tablet finishing plant that produces solid and capsule dosage forms. Backed by strong local expertise and modern technologies, the site supports both small-scale clinical trial supply and large-scale commercial manufacturing for AbbVie’s global operations.
Role Overview
AbbVie is hiring a fixed-term Training Coordinator to join the Manufacturing team in Cork. This role supports operations leadership by strengthening day-to-day efficiency, helping new team members settle in smoothly, and leading activities across safety, induction, training, compliance, and process improvement.
Key Duties
- Ensure every new hire is properly inducted and onboarded with minimal disruption to the team.
- Confirm that all operators remain current on LMS training and that no overdue training is permitted.
- Keep all JSTM records current and ensure training compliance remains up to date.
- Make sure Instructor-Led Training, both internal and external, is completed on time with no overdue items.
- Coordinate with relevant departments so training arrangements are clear, scheduled, and understood.
- Maintain the training matrix digitally each month so operator competency is easy to track.
- Work with Production Managers and Supervisors to create and maintain weekly and monthly cross-training plans.
- Set up and manage a reliable storage and retention system for training-related documentation within the plant.
- Support manufacturing safety improvements alongside other department representatives, using trends from the Green Button safety management system to target actions.
- Help ensure quality standards are embedded in every aspect of work, including full training compliance.
- Carry out other related tasks and assignments as needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a production manufacturing environment, ideally in oral solid dosage manufacturing.
- Exposure to a broad range of equipment and systems is preferred.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work.
- Experience using Electronic Document Management Systems or other GxP applications.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Word.
