Job purpose
This role is responsible for carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance and assigned breakdown maintenance on static and mobile electrical systems, equipment, and installations across Aviation Fuel Depots, in line with Aviation/JIG requirements and manufacturer guidance.
Key duties
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on static and mobile electrical, electronic, and automation equipment as scheduled each month, including LV/MV/HV panels, aviation fueling systems, motors, pumps, compressors, generators, HVAC systems, fire detection and alarm control systems, process instruments such as level, flow, pressure, and temperature transmitters, and automation platforms such as SCADA and PLC. Keep maintenance records according to approved procedures.
- Complete electrical and electronic modification work as instructed by supervisors, following the required safety and quality standards and working independently where appropriate.
- Carry out testing of repaired systems, equipment, and installations to confirm proper operation.
- Diagnose faults using circuit diagrams, equipment drawings, and manuals, then restore systems to working condition.
- Apply all required safety precautions before and during electrical work, and ensure safety equipment remains available and in good condition.
- Inspect airport depots, including Zayed Airport and other locations, to check mobile and fixed electrical systems, report defects, perform repairs, and document all actions on the prescribed forms.
- Prepare store requisitions based on catalogues, parts lists, and related references.
- Maintain and retain checklists and documents for scheduled tasks in line with aviation record-retention requirements.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, complete repair work promptly, and return equipment to service as soon as possible while observing safety controls.
- Follow strict safety requirements while working in hazardous areas and ensure jobs are executed only under approved permit-to-work procedures and company HSE rules.
- Work on a 24/7 shift rotation as required.
- Complete electrical and electronic changes as directed by supervisors and in accordance with safety procedures.
- Prepare reports covering work completed and issues identified during visits to remote aviation depots.
- Use and update computer-based maintenance systems for aviation equipment and facilities, and record all maintenance activity in line with company process.
- Operate inventory management and maintenance software within the limits of authority granted in the system.
HSSE responsibilities
- Immediately inform the Electrical Supervisor about any anticipated danger or hazard.
- Report incidents, near misses, and hazards proactively.
- Comply with all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Take part in toolbox talks and emergency drills whenever conducted.
Qualifications, experience, knowledge, and skills
Candidates should hold a Technical Diploma in Electronics, or a Secondary School Certificate together with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field, and have 4 years of experience in a similar position.
Additional information
The work may involve servicing equipment across multiple airport depots and remote aviation locations. This is a hazardous work environment, so adherence to permit-to-work controls, safety checks, and company HSE standards is essential. The position also requires disciplined documentation, system updates, and shift work in a 24x7 cycle.
