It is built to address the problem of physical-book piracy by stopping unauthorized scanning, copying, and duplication. The product has already progressed beyond the prototype stage and is being prepared for its first paid pilot program with selected publishing partners.

Role Overview

The company is seeking a mission-led Technical Co-Founder and CTO to lead all technology decisions and execution. In this role, the technical co-founder will share the business with the CEO, while the CEO focuses on publisher relationships, operations, and fundraising. The CTO will be responsible for the full technical direction of the product.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve and maintain the local, real-time machine-learning scanning pipeline.
• Take ownership of the existing application architecture and ensure it can be deployed smoothly for publisher pilot programs.
• Work with the team to plan the long-term move into device firmware and embedded hardware development using C++.
• Support reliable deployment of the prototype on partner infrastructure during the 60-day pilot phases.

Additional Information

This opportunity is based in Ruaraka, Nairobi County, Kenya, and is a full-time onsite role. The role is framed as a technical co-founder position, meaning the person joining will have a central ownership stake in the technology side of the venture and will work closely with the CEO on building the business.
