Accountabilities

• Develop, update, and continuously refine strong technical documentation for software products, internal tools, or business operations, depending on the assigned team.
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders so documentation reflects actual system behavior and user needs.
• Convert complex technical ideas into content that is organized, easy to follow, and accessible to different audiences.
• Help define documentation standards, style rules, and best practices across teams and product areas.
• Engage with users and communities to better understand real-world use cases and make documentation more relevant and helpful.
• Encourage engineers and cross-functional teammates to contribute to documentation efforts.
• Take part in improving documentation methods using structured approaches such as Diátaxis.
• Support the growth of documentation as a key discipline in both product development and organizational communication.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in technical writing, software documentation, or a closely related engineering-facing role with a strong emphasis on clear communication.
• A background in software development, or solid familiarity with engineering tools, systems, and workflows.
• The ability to understand complex technical systems and explain them clearly, supported by structured and analytical thinking.
• Excellent written communication skills with careful attention to precision, clarity, and consistency.
• Experience working with engineering teams, product teams, or open-source communities.
• Comfort using tools and workflows such as Linux, Git, command-line environments, or documentation systems like Sphinx and reStructuredText.
• Strong interest in technology and a willingness to learn unfamiliar domains and systems.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in distributed, fast-moving environments.
• Advantageous: experience contributing to open source, UX writing, or leading technical communities.
