Role Overview
DePuy Synthes is hiring for a Tech / Broker Governance / Post-Entry Support professional based in Ringaskiddy, Ireland. This role supports global trade operations with an emphasis on customs broker oversight, post-entry corrections, and technical trade processes. The position helps ensure customs declarations are accurate, compliant, and ready for audit, while working closely with internal teams and external brokers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee broker governance activities in line with established controls, standards, and procedures.
- Handle post-entry work such as customs corrections, reconciliations, and filing amendments.
- Review customs entry records to confirm accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Work with trade compliance, logistics, and transportation teams to close entry-related issues.
- Assist with audits, assessments, and official requests tied to customs and trade matters.
- Keep documentation, records, and reports organized to support controls and audit preparedness.
- Monitor performance indicators and trends connected to broker quality, compliance, and post-entry activity.
- Support ongoing improvement efforts aimed at stronger compliance and better operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, Logistics, or a closely related discipline is required. Additional study or training in customs, trade compliance, or international logistics is preferred. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience in trade compliance, customs operations, logistics, or a similar field, along with practical knowledge of customs workflows, broker coordination, and post-entry obligations. Experience with audits, reconciliations, or regulatory reviews is important, as is a strong eye for detail and accurate documentation. The role also calls for the ability to analyse data and spot compliance risks or patterns.
Preferred Background
Applicants with experience in regulated sectors such as medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences will be favoured. Familiarity with UK, EU, or broader international customs rules is also desirable, along with direct exposure to customs brokers or freight forwarders. Experience using ERP platforms, trade compliance tools, or customs management systems would be an advantage. Background in continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives is helpful, as are strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
Additional Requirements
English is mandatory, and additional European languages are a plus. The role may involve up to 10% travel, mainly within Europe. Certifications in customs, trade compliance, or supply chain are preferred.
Separation Notice
Johnson & Johnson has announced plans to separate its Orthopaedics business into a standalone company operating as DePuy Synthes. If hired, the role is expected to transfer to DePuy Synthes following completion of the transaction, subject to required legal, regulatory, and consultation processes. Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base pay range for this position is €52,400.00 to €82,915.00 annually. In addition to base pay, benefits may include an annual bonus or sales commission depending on role and location, vacation time, parental leave of at least 12 weeks, bereavement leave, caregiver leave, volunteer leave, well-being reimbursement, and programs supporting financial, physical, and mental health. Employees may also be eligible for service anniversary and recognition awards, along with various insurance plans subject to plan terms. Benefit details can vary by location and may change.
