About the Role
This position sits within a global learning organization focused on building practical, high-impact digital education for both internal teams and external audiences. The team creates self-paced, asynchronous learning experiences supported by AI-enabled tools and interactive simulators, with an emphasis on storytelling and business outcomes.
As the Team Lead, Learning and Development, you will coordinate work across the instructional design team, partner departments, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders. The role centers on keeping projects organized, approvals moving, timelines on track, and communication clear. It also includes hands-on instructional design work for a limited number of e-learning projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with instructional designers to plan learning projects, define timelines, allocate responsibilities, and ensure agreed deliverables are completed in a collaborative environment.
- Break project plans into actionable tasks, assign ownership, and follow progress across the team.
- Act as the primary contact for internal teams and stakeholders, maintaining alignment, clarity, and positive working relationships throughout each project.
- Track approvals and reviews closely, following up proactively so projects continue to move forward.
- Support people management activities such as matching projects to skill sets, monitoring workload, and escalating bottlenecks when needed.
- Handle a small portfolio of e-learning projects directly as an instructional designer.
- Assist with communication planning for training launches and prepare messaging for both internal audiences and clients.
- Contribute ideas and improvements that strengthen collaboration and help the learning operation scale efficiently.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings a blend of instructional design experience, coordination ability, and strong stakeholder management. You should be comfortable leading through organization, communication, and follow-through, while also remaining flexible as priorities change.
Hiring Process
- Applications are first reviewed manually against the stated requirements, with each profile assessed individually.
- Selected candidates may be asked to complete a video interview for the hiring manager’s review, often followed by a test or short assignment.
- Qualified applicants are then invited to meet the hiring manager and/or interview team in a live conversation, either in person or over Zoom. Interviews are not conducted through text messaging apps, and final hiring decisions are never made without a live meeting.
- If both sides are interested, the team will discuss the offer after the live interview stage.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a mid- to senior-level instructional design role, or a closely related learning and development position.
- At least 1 year of experience coordinating teams, leading work, or managing projects in learning or a similar field.
- Strong comfort with AI tools; experience building custom GPTs and expanding their use across teams is a notable advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships, including during periods of change.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to connect and collaborate internally and externally.
- A highly organized approach, good attention to detail, and a proactive working style.
- Flexibility to adapt plans when priorities shift.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to keep work progressing while supporting a positive environment.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
