Support Worker - Taupo (Part time)

About the role

IDEA Services helps people with intellectual disabilities build fulfilling lives at home and in their local communities. In this role, you will support adults living in their own homes as they work toward personal goals and aspirations. The work is rewarding and gives you room to be creative while making each day meaningful for the people you assist.

This Support Worker position involves caring for clients with complex support needs, helping manage risks, maintaining safety, and delivering personalised care. Experience in a similar role is an advantage, but the organisation is especially interested in people who bring broad life experience and an open, adaptable mindset.

Working pattern

• This is a permanent part-time role.
• Shifts include daytime hours between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
• Weekend availability is required.
• The role is based in Taupo and is onsite.

What you'll bring

• Ideally, prior experience in caregiving or adult personal care.
• A steady, calm approach and confidence when working with challenging behaviour.
• Flexibility to work across different shifts, including weekends.
• Comfort using computers and tablets as part of daily work.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills.
• Good physical fitness to provide hands-on support when needed.
• A full New Zealand driver's licence.

What’s on offer

• Pay of $24.68 to $30.13 per hour, based on relevant qualifications, with scope to increase earnings as qualifications grow.
