Supply Chain Specialist

The company is seeking an experienced, self-directed Supply Chain Specialist to help manage purchasing, inventory planning, and supplier coordination in a lean manufacturing setting. The position will work with ERP and MRP tools to keep materials available, shorten lead times, and support production planning.

Purchasing and procurement

• Handle purchase orders and oversee the full procurement process within the ERP system.
• Schedule material purchases in line with production plans and stock requirements.
• Identify, assess, and negotiate with suppliers based on price, quality, and dependability.
• Track deliveries and address issues related to suppliers or logistics.

ERP and data administration

• Keep item, vendor, and purchasing records accurate and up to date in the ERP platform.
• Analyze purchasing information and performance indicators to lower costs and strengthen supply chain results.
• Assist Finance with invoice matching, purchase order reconciliation, and cost monitoring.
• Create and share weekly reports.

Inventory and supply chain coordination

• Work closely with production, engineering, and inventory teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Spot supply risks, shortages, and excess inventory issues, and help resolve them.
• Carry out cycle counts and physical inventory checks when required.

Cross-functional collaboration

• Partner with Engineering and Production on BOM updates, material needs, and priority changes.
• Take part in planning discussions to keep purchasing aligned with operational requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain.

Qualifications and experience

• A college or university degree or diploma in a related area is required.
• 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems is expected.
• Practical experience with MRP, production scheduling, and supplier negotiation is needed.
• Working familiarity with ERP platforms such as ECI M1, SAP, MS Dynamics GP, NetSuite, Epicor, Sage, or similar systems is important.
• Strong skills in communication, organization, and negotiation are required.
• Experience with supply chain analytics would be an advantage.
