Role overview

The Student Advisor supports student retention from enrollment through program completion, with particular attention to keeping learners engaged during clinical or professional placement periods. The role focuses on proactive student outreach, helping students stay aligned with program and placement expectations, and contributing to retention and placement outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Reach out to students by phone, email, and text in line with engagement plans.
Handle student questions and requests across multiple communication channels.
Work with Enrollment Advisors to support the onboarding of new students when needed.
Keep student interaction records accurate and up to date in the CRM and related tools.
Share important updates with cross-functional teams and complete follow-ups on assigned action items.
Track student trends and partner with leadership to support retention and placement targets.
Confirm final enrollment counts at the end of each term for reporting.
Contact students at important milestones such as registration, participation, and grade monitoring.
Coordinate with university faculty or advisors within required timelines.
Escalate issues promptly to the Associate Director when needed.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is required.
At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in student advising, call center work, or customer service.
Experience in higher education or a comparable setting is preferred.
Good understanding of the needs and challenges faced by adult learners.
Strong written and spoken communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work through ambiguity.
Strong attention to detail in documentation and data entry.
Well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, and service-oriented skills.
Comfortable working independently with limited supervision.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM platforms; experience with student information and clearance tracking tools is a plus.

Compensation

The salary for this role is USD 48,400 to 60,500, with the final offer adjusted based on experience, location, market conditions, and job duties.
