Senior Project Manager

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead major multidisciplinary assignments across Saudi Arabia and the GCC. The role calls for deep Middle East experience and ownership of successful project outcomes, with a strong focus on delivery, coordination, and client satisfaction.

You will guide projects through all key stages, making sure they are completed on schedule, within the approved budget, and aligned with client expectations. The position involves close collaboration with the internal team and the client to define objectives, build plans, manage budgets, and maintain programme control.

You will also help manage project risks, develop contingency responses, protect health and safety standards, and ensure compliance with AtkinsRéalis project management practices.

Project Delivery

• Set out the project scope, fees, deliverables, and programme during kick-off meetings and through regular team updates.
• Oversee sub-consultant agreements and payments, with technical oversight handled through the design management function.
• Make sure the Project Execution Plan covers design management needs, including coordination and interface control between client requirements and sub-consultant design packages.
• Assist the Project Director and Project Manager in preparing the project management document set and standard templates.
• Support the identification and tracking of risks.
• Help manage scope changes and extensions with the Project Director and Project Manager.
• Spot resource constraints or shortfalls and coordinate with technical team leads to address them.
• Escalate issues to the Project Director or Project Manager when needed.
• Provide timely internal and external monthly reports through a planned routine reporting schedule.
• Ensure project delivery follows quality management system processes.
• Participate in client debriefs.
• Support the financial, technical, and contractual management of the work.

Financial Management

• Track design team progress and spend, and flag any deviation from the planned budget so corrective action can be taken with technical leads.
• Use commercial judgement to understand and manage risk effectively.
• Proactively manage risks using the available tools, regular team and client engagement, and ongoing updates to contingency requirements, at least once per design stage.
• Prepare invoices for review and approval by the Project Director and maintain accurate financial registers.

Client Management

• Work directly with the client on the technical delivery aspects of the project.

About You

You should bring an engineering or technical education background, along with at least 20 years of experience in the Middle East. The role suits someone who has built and improved processes, and who has strong capability in risk, schedule, cost, and contract management.

Experience is expected in qualitative and quantitative risk management, schedule reviews and schedule analysis, cost estimating, cost control, and cost forecasting. You should also be familiar with Saudi Government procurement law and its executive bylaw, PMI project management standards, earned value management, and change control.

Experience in developing and improving processes and procedures is important, and knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
