About the Role

EnerMech is a specialist services organisation that supports complex energy projects with integrated, safety-led solutions. With more than 50 years of experience, the company serves clients around the world across the full asset lifecycle, both offshore and onshore. Its global operations span three core business areas: Energy Solutions, Infrastructure & Industrial Solutions, and Lifting Solutions, offering services such as cranes, lifting, fluid power, training, equipment rental, pipeline, subsea, process, and valves. The focus is on improving reliability, efficiency, and performance through tailored integrated solutions that reduce risk and add value.

Based in the Artarmon office in Sydney, this Senior HR Advisor position will strengthen the HR function across Australia. The role is a hands-on and strategic partner to the operations team, delivering compliant, practical HR support nationwide. It calls for a well-rounded HR generalist with solid experience in industrial relations, compliance, and stakeholder management in an international or project-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with site leadership and management teams across Australia as a strategic HR advisor, reporting to the Regional HR Solutions Lead.
  • Guide managers through industrial relations matters including disciplinary processes, grievances, investigations, and performance concerns.
  • Work with leaders to improve engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
  • Make sure employment practices comply with local labour legislation, statutory obligations, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Keep current on regional employment law and advise leadership on potential risks and mitigation actions.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by maintaining accurate HR documentation and records.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are applied consistently across the region.
  • Manage onboarding and exit processes to remain compliant while supporting a positive employee experience.
  • Provide input on pay, benefits, and market benchmarking in line with company frameworks.
  • Support annual performance review activities and broader talent development processes.
  • Coach managers in effective performance management and development planning.
  • Identify training needs and help coordinate learning initiatives where needed.
  • Maintain accurate employee information in HR systems.
  • Assist with payroll and benefits administration alongside regional and global HR colleagues.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics to support business decisions.
  • Travel regularly across Australia to deliver on-site HR support and build strong relationships with local teams.
  • Serve as a steady HR presence that promotes alignment and continuity across the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally within oil and gas, energy, or engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of local employment and labour laws.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing complex employee relations and compliance issues.
  • Experience supporting multi-site, regional, or distributed operations.
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM, or an equivalent credential is preferred.
