Senior Expert, Technology and Innovation

Role overview

This position is responsible for advancing technology and innovation efforts within the electricity sector. The role combines research leadership, digital transformation support, policy development, and coordination with internal teams and private-sector stakeholders to strengthen applied innovation outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead studies, research work, and applied projects focused on electricity-sector technologies and innovation, both internally and in coordination with private-sector stakeholders, while also supporting other departments with research, advice, and technical guidance.
• Oversee digital transformation and innovation strategies for the electricity sector.
• Contribute to proposing and shaping digital transformation and innovation initiatives in the electricity sector.
• Support the creation of key performance indicators to measure, track, review, improve, and continuously develop the results of plans, initiatives, and programs related to electricity-sector technology and innovation.
• Direct research and development efforts connected to electricity-related technologies and innovation topics.
• Monitor the organization of events and workshops used to share research findings, studies, and applied projects, including coordination with relevant stakeholders and inviting media, collaborators, and public/private sector partners.
• Help develop regulatory policies, rules, instructions, procedures, timelines, and the department’s operating manual.
• Carry out additional studies and research on technology and innovation in the electricity sector, including work conducted with private-sector entities, and assist other departments by providing research support.
• Track coordination activities with private-sector representatives related to research and development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with workplace controls, conduct standards, cybersecurity policies, and the procedures applicable to the organizational unit.
• Perform any other duties assigned by direct supervisors.

Education and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any closely related field is required. The role also requires at least 8 years of experience.
