Senior Data Analyst - Operations & Logistics

Role Overview

In this Doha-based role, you will partner closely with operations managers, fleet and dispatch teams, data scientists, backend engineers, and wider business stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment. As the Operations & Logistics Data Analyst, your focus will be to transform delivery and logistics data into practical insights that improve the journey from merchant to customer. You will be responsible for the metrics that reflect operational performance, including delivery time, on-time rate, courier utilization, dispatch efficiency, and cost per delivery. Using these measures, you will identify delays, anticipate demand, align courier supply with order volume, and recommend improvements that make the last mile quicker, more cost-effective, and more dependable.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside operations, fleet, dispatch, product, and engineering teams to deliver data-led improvements in delivery speed, reliability, and cost.
• Set up, track, and share reporting on core operational KPIs such as delivery time, on-time performance, courier utilization, idle time, assignment efficiency, dispatch efficiency, and cost per delivery.
• Examine large and complex operational datasets using statistical methods and turn the findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders.
• Explore bottlenecks throughout the order lifecycle, from acceptance and preparation through pickup, transit, and drop-off, then suggest focused fixes.
• Create demand forecasts and support capacity planning so courier availability matches order demand across zones and time windows, including peak hours.
• Assess performance by geography and zone to guide coverage decisions, courier distribution, and last-mile strategy.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations that provide both live and historical performance visibility for operations teams.
• Keep current with logistics analytics, dispatch optimization, and last-mile delivery trends to help the business stay competitive.
• Spot improvement opportunities, help shape complex operational features, and mentor junior analysts in a team-oriented setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as data science, statistics, mathematics, industrial engineering, operations research, supply chain, or computer science.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain analytics, ideally within a fast-moving delivery, e-commerce, or marketplace business.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, Python, and/or R, along with experience using visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with geospatial and time-series data, including zones, routes, ETAs, and hourly or location-based demand, plus comfort with mapping or spatial analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with the capacity to draw useful insight from large, imperfect operational datasets.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain operational findings and recommendations to non-technical teams such as fleet, dispatch, and city operations.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to detect and fix data issues.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced real-time environment.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse functions.
• Bonus experience in food, grocery, or parcel delivery services; dispatch, routing, and batching logic; causal analytics; delivery unit economics; forecasting; capacity planning; optimization/operations research; data pipelines; or predictive modeling such as ETA or demand forecasting.
