Overview
This opportunity is for a Senior Data Analyst who is motivated by the rapid evolution of AI and wants to contribute to how a business governs, oversees, and adopts AI responsibly. The position sits inside a Data Governance team and focuses on building controls, monitoring methods, and governance approaches for AI systems, AI-produced data, and AI-enabled workflows.
Unlike a standard reporting-heavy analytics role, this position blends data analysis with governance and technology. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at the intersection of analytics, machine learning, generative AI, and policy-driven decision making.
What the role involves
You will help design practical frameworks and monitoring mechanisms that support responsible AI use across the organisation. The work calls for someone who can translate technical complexity into actionable solutions for stakeholders and who is comfortable operating in areas where no established playbook yet exists.
Key experience and focus areas
- Strong hands-on background in data analysis.
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Experience with machine learning concepts and models.
- Understanding of generative AI, large language models, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Prior exposure to data governance, data quality, or data management.
- Confidence working with stakeholders and turning complex ideas into practical outcomes.
- Curiosity, problem-solving ability, and comfort with ambiguous challenges.
Highly desirable experience
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms.
- Familiarity with AI governance, model governance, risk, or control frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Git, testing principles, and structured development methods.
What the team is looking for
The hiring team is especially interested in candidates who can connect analytics, technology, and governance. This is a better fit for someone who wants to shape how AI is monitored and controlled than for someone focused only on dashboards or pure data science work.
Compensation and benefits
The salary on offer is up to £65,000 in London, up to £56,000 in Scotland, and up to £52,000 in Liverpool. The package also includes a bonus, a strong pension arrangement, and clear long-term career growth.
Location
The role is based in Liverpool, London, or Glasgow and follows a hybrid working arrangement.
