Mayo Clinic is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to support staffing and scheduling activities within the Department of Nursing in Jacksonville, Florida. This role helps ensure patient care areas have the right staffing information and resources in place, while also assisting with schedule planning and maintenance.

Role Summary

The Staffing Clerk serves as a key support resource for both staffing and scheduling. The position tracks staffing needs and available resources across nursing service areas, reviews staffing recommendation reports, and helps distribute staffing resources accordingly. It also supports nurse managers, nursing supervisors, and RN staff with orientation to staffing practices. In addition, the role works with the supervisor staffing office and nurse managers to review workload, suggest staffing and scheduling plans, create base schedules, and keep employee schedules current. The position also partners with HR on open, vacant, and filled roles within Nursing and is expected to apply sound problem-solving and self-development throughout the job.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Working knowledge of computer systems, including Windows-based applications, LAN usage, and intranet/internet navigation.
• Strong keyboarding ability and comfort using word processing and spreadsheet tools.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfort handling frequent, complex interpersonal interactions.
• Good problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to work on one’s own with limited supervision.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment with interruptions and changing workload demands.
