Role overview
Kids Inc. is hiring a qualified Relief Early Years Educator for a permanent, full-time role based across several Dublin centres. The hourly pay is between €16.00 and €17.50. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting children in a caring, stimulating setting and is comfortable moving between locations as cover is required.
With more than 25 years in childcare, Kids Inc. is a major provider of Early Years and Afterschool Care in Ireland. The organisation runs over 70 Breakfast and Afterschool Care programmes nationwide, along with 5 Creche and Preschool services, supporting children and families throughout the country.

The role involves working across multiple Early Years centres, stepping in wherever support is needed while becoming part of the wider team. It offers exposure to different settings while retaining the security of a permanent appointment.
What the role involves
The educator will help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where children can learn through play, curiosity, and positive relationships. The role is focused on supporting each child’s development and contributing to a warm environment for children and their families.
- Set up and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children
- Use play-based activities to support learning and development
- Watch children’s interests and progress, record observations, and plan follow-on activities
- Encourage development across physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and language areas
- Supervise children during meals and routine parts of the day
- Develop positive connections with children, parents, guardians, and coworkers
- Keep accurate notes and observation records as required by the programme
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe setting in line with company procedures and applicable regulations
Essential criteria
- QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care and Education, or another qualification accepted by the DCEDIY
- Confident spoken and written English
- A dependable, professional, and positive approach
- Good communication and people skills
- Strong enthusiasm for working with young children
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team
- Openness to learning, growing, and supporting a healthy workplace culture
Desirable experience and training
- Prior experience in a creche or Early Years environment
- First Aid training
- Manual Handling training
- Food Safety training

Additional requirements
Successful candidates must complete Garda Vetting and, where relevant, provide a valid Police Clearance Certificate. This applies to anyone who has lived outside Ireland for more than six months since the age of 18.
