Candidate profile

The Town is looking for someone with prior local laws or ranger experience who can interpret legislation confidently and work safely in a public-facing enforcement role. A pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, is required.

  • Prior experience in a Ranger or Local Laws Officer role.
  • Completion of ROCS 1 and 2, or equivalent Municipal Law Enforcement A and B.
  • Certificate IV in Local Government Regulatory Services.
  • Working knowledge of the Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws relevant to Ranger Services, plus the ability to research and interpret legislative requirements.
  • Experience handling firearms and understanding firearms safety, with the ability to obtain a firearms licence.
  • Working With Children Card, or willingness to obtain one.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Current Class C driver’s licence.
  • Legal right to work in Australia.
