ജോലി വിവരണം
Role overview
His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service is recruiting prison officers for HMP Highpoint. This is a demanding but rewarding public service role focused on keeping people safe, supporting rehabilitation, and making a constructive difference to offenders’ lives.
What the role involves
As a prison officer, you may take on different responsibilities throughout the day. The role can involve maintaining order, supporting people in custody, and adapting quickly to changing situations. One moment you may be managing safety and security; the next, you may be offering guidance, encouragement, or learning support.
You will work closely with prisoners in a highly active environment, helping to protect the public while contributing to positive change inside the prison.
Who this role suits
This position is suitable for people from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with experience in parenting, education, retail, or the armed forces. The organisation values emotional intelligence, confidence, strong communication, integrity, and the ability to build professional relationships with people who may be at a difficult stage in their lives.
Team collaboration is essential, and you must be committed to working with colleagues as one unit to keep the prison, prisoners, and staff safe.
Working pattern
You will need to be available for rotating shifts and weekend work.
Training, growth, and rewards
Full training will be provided, along with opportunities to progress and develop, including routes into specialist areas. The package includes a competitive salary, 25 days of annual leave, childcare vouchers, season ticket loans, retail discounts, an Employee Assistance Programme, and a Cycle to Work scheme.
Beyond the benefits, the role offers the satisfaction of helping someone get their life back on track through a career that is unlike most others.
Application note
Applicants who feel they match the personal qualities and demands of the role are encouraged to apply.
