Overview
Tidelands Health is seeking a Patient Scheduler I to support patient pre-registration and appointment coordination for provider services. This role focuses on delivering dependable, courteous, and efficient service to both patients and clinical teams while following established Tidelands Health scheduling protocols. The position also includes accurately completing registration tasks, which involve collecting co-payments and patient demographic details.

Key Duties
- Make sure patients receive all necessary instructions and information so they arrive prepared and on time for procedures, and ensure the organization has the data needed for accurate billing.
- Accept scheduling requests from physician offices and patients, then arrange procedures based on departmental availability.
- Share accurate scheduling details so departments can view and print daily appointment schedules, and keep communication flowing when schedule changes occur.
- Carry out general administrative support tasks for the department or work location, including opening, sorting, and distributing mail and correspondence as assigned.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience
At least 1 year of related customer-facing experience is required. Experience in a call center, patient scheduling, physician front-office work, or a health care setting is preferred.

- Strong public-facing communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay composed and effective under pressure, shifting deadlines, and changing priorities
- High attention to accuracy and detail
- Sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving ability
- Comfort working with patients, families, visitors, and clinical staff
- Basic medical terminology knowledge is an advantage
