Role Overview
This position is part of plant operations at the Jamnagar site, with a focus on safe, stable, and efficient production through control-room and field monitoring.
Educational Qualification
Applicants should hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Physics and Chemistry, or a B.E., or a Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Run plant operations in a safe and steady manner to meet targeted output and product quality using DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Handle ERCP actions in line with the prescribed procedure.
- Keep process conditions within approved safe limits, respond quickly to alarms, and take corrective steps.
- Use the OMPro tool effectively for operational support.
- Manage process upsets and emergency shutdown situations when required.
- Track raw material usage and energy consumption during the shift.
- Take part in shutdown, startup, and preservation activities.
- Escalate deviations and abnormalities to the shift superintendent without delay.
- Monitor and review quality control parameters.
- Work toward the best operating conditions to reduce energy use and improve yield.
- Maintain process settings as specified in SOCs during trials.
- Contribute to incident learning, root-cause analysis discussions, and accurate shift log maintenance for assigned areas and equipment.
- Report unusual observations immediately, including safety near-misses and incidents, to the shift superintendent.
- Oversee fire and gas detection monitoring and coordinate related actions.
- Serve as a member of the Auxiliary Fire Squad.
- Follow current safety and management systems such as IMS, ISO, TQM, QCC, and 5S.
- Participate in safety reviews, including plant start-up safety checks and routine safety audits.
