Role overview
Newsweek is hiring an Office Manager / Executive Assistant for its London office. The position is central to keeping the office running efficiently while also supporting senior leadership, including the EVP of Newsweek International. It is a varied, busy role that calls for excellent organisation, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
The role is based in the London Canary Wharf office from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays available for working from home.
Executive Assistant responsibilities
- Oversee the senior executive’s calendar and email, including setting up meetings and appointments.
- Arrange business travel, lodging, dining, and other client hospitality or entertainment plans when required.
- Welcome visitors and make sure they receive proper assistance during their time in the office.
- Coordinate with colleagues across the office, including team members in the US and other regions.
- Respond to incoming calls and deal with general queries.
- Create documents, briefing materials, and PowerPoint slide decks.
- Step in to cover reception duties when needed.
- Support senior executives with any additional day-to-day requests.
Qualifications and requirements
- Must be based within a practical commuting distance of the London office, as regular on-site attendance is expected.
- Prior experience in an Office Manager, Executive Assistant, or similar support role.
- Strong planning skills and the ability to manage several tasks at once.
- Good analytical thinking, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Confident communication and people skills, with a professional manner.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Able to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
