The position also includes direct oversight of command-and-control activities tied to live explosive operations, and the use of Munitions Information Systems such as TICMS and MC2 to track the status of explosives assets and facilities.

This role requires ensuring that all work is carried out in line with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and the Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Duties

  • Oversee the control functions of the Munitions Department, including routine and contingency planning, asset and workload management, and production scheduling in accordance with contractual obligations using TICMS, MC2, and related databases.
  • Track the status, capabilities, and limitations of facilities, personnel, equipment, vehicles, and munitions resources that could affect mission performance, and ensure MC2 remains accurate and current.
  • Escalate emergencies, issues, and operational constraints to the Munitions Superintendent without delay.
  • Work with Section Supervisors to manage scheduling, Awaiting Maintenance (AWM), Awaiting Parts (AWP), and Technical Order Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) programs.
  • Lead the broader AWM/AWP and TCTO programs and review them in weekly scheduling meetings.
  • Coordinate with the Munitions Accountability Section and the site supply liaison on all TCTO-related requirements where applicable.
  • Attend site TCTO planning and reconciliation meetings for munitions assets and equipment.
  • Prepare or verify yearly, quarterly, monthly, and weekly maintenance and inspection forecasts and schedules before the relevant scheduling meetings.
  • Maintain the delayed MC2 discrepancy log for AWM/AWP items and equipment.
  • Coordinate with the Munitions Accountability Section on approved ADR actions and planned disposal or shipment dates.
  • Compile recurring report data and submit it for review by the Munitions Superintendent.
  • Attend scheduled planning sessions, including monthly and weekly meetings, or ensure designated scheduling staff attend, and fold the required support into the department workload plan.
  • Assess incoming demands, prioritize support for the local Munitions Flight, and notify the Munitions Superintendent if scheduling conflicts arise.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with Deployed Forces Munitions Control Function and Flight Leadership.
  • Perform direct data entry in TICMS and make sure records move through the correct document flow process.
  • Manage keys and locks in line with AFMAN 21-200 for munitions structure key control, where applicable.
  • Create, maintain, and use local Emergency Action Checklists in coordination with the Deployed Forces Munitions Control Section.
  • Handle MSA Owner/User duties as required under DAFI 31-101.
  • Monitor work progress in MC2 for explosive operations to keep workforce status up to date.
  • Inform supporting units before hazardous work begins or before evacuation and fire drills are conducted.
  • Notify the Fire Department and Security Forces when hazard class division 1.1 explosives are moved outside the MSA or when magazine contents change in a way that affects fire symbols, hazard symbols, CIIC, or document notifications.
  • Carry out entry-controller responsibilities when needed.
  • Be available for required working hours, including standby duty, to meet mission demands in both peacetime and combat operations.
  • Serve as the Munitions Systems Section Chief when directed during that individual’s absence.
  • Complete required TICMS actions using the Receiver role.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.
  • Work in office, maintenance shop, or warehouse settings, and be prepared to work outdoors for extended periods when necessary.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least six years of military munitions experience is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for this clearance.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment must be followed according to procedures and task requirements.
  • Candidate must be physically able to complete all job duties and lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
