Overview
Sonas Nursing Homes is recruiting Multi-Task Attendants for an upcoming opening planned for Summer 2026. The team is inviting interested candidates to attend recruitment open days at Havenwood Nursing Home in Ballygunner, Waterford.
Applicants are asked to send in their CV in advance. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and given an interview slot during one of the open-day sessions.
Candidates must be able to attend an in-person interview on either 19 June or 20 June.
Open day schedule
- Thursday, 19 June: 8:30am to 7:00pm
- Friday, 20 June: 1:00pm
Role summary
This position suits someone who is dependable, well-organised, and motivated to contribute to the wellbeing of residents. The role supports daily operations across catering, housekeeping, and laundry, helping maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and welcoming setting.

Catering support
- Help prepare and serve meals and drinks.
- Assist the Catering Supervisor/Cook in upholding food safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow correct food storage and handling practices in line with regulations and best practice.
- Support kitchen cleaning and help keep the workspace safe.
- Contribute to providing balanced meals that meet residents’ nutritional needs.
Housekeeping support
- Maintain a consistently clean and hygienic environment throughout the nursing home.
- Carry out cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, polishing, mopping, and sanitising.
- Keep bedrooms, bathrooms, shared spaces, and dining areas tidy, pleasant, and well maintained.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
- Escalate any maintenance concerns or issues without delay.
Laundry support
- Sort, wash, fold, and distribute residents’ clothing and linen.
- Maintain strong standards of laundry cleanliness and quality.
- Assist with organising and tracking laundry supplies and stock.
- Work in line with health, safety, and infection control requirements.
Working pattern and conditions
The employer offers flexible scheduling to suit both operational needs and candidate availability. Shifts may include day, evening, weekend, and public holiday work.

Experience and training
Experience in a nursing home, healthcare, hospitality, catering, housekeeping, or laundry environment is helpful but not required. Relevant training certificates are welcome, and training can be provided where needed.
