Mechanical Technician - Rotating and Static Equipments

Role Overview

We are looking for a Mechanical Technician with strong maintenance experience on rotating and static equipment in an industrial plant setting. The position is based in Zone 75, Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Qatar, and involves supporting the reliability and safe operation of plant machinery.

Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within power generation, desalination, utilities, heavy industry, or oil and gas environments.
• Practical experience with rotating and static equipment is essential, including exposure to gas turbines and multi-stage desalination plant systems.
• Applicants should be skilled in preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance, as well as fault finding, troubleshooting, and CMMS-based maintenance execution, while working to OEM maintenance standards.
• Training or certification in First Aid and Emergency Fire Fighting is expected, along with familiarity with Permit-to-Work (PTW), HSE requirements, plant isolation, and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on mechanical assets to support plant reliability, availability, and operational performance.
• Identify mechanical issues, diagnose failures, and complete repairs promptly to reduce downtime.
• Use CMMS to process maintenance work orders while adhering to OEM instructions, approved procedures, and quality expectations.
• Follow HSE rules, PTW controls, safety protocols, and safe handling practices for tools and equipment throughout all maintenance tasks.
