Role Overview
The Logistics Coordinator supports transportation operations with limited day-to-day supervision. This role manages shipments end to end, including scheduling, dispatching, planning, tracking, and ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
- Handle incoming phone calls and emails in a prompt, professional manner.
- Evaluate the needs of Sales Representatives or Account Managers and identify the purpose of each request.
- Collect all necessary details accurately during order entry.
- Route shipments according to customer-specific instructions and requirements.
- Monitor every shipment throughout the process and provide updates at each stage, including delays, cancellations, damage, and other issues.
- Inform the relevant parties when special service requests are needed.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes and raise service quality.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external clients to schedule, move, and deliver consignments.
- Use vendors and partner networks to deliver solutions that are timely, professional, and cost-effective.
- Work in the transportation management system and/or warehouse management system carefully and consistently.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in logistics and/or freight forwarding operations, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of compliance agencies and regulations, including TSA and DOT.
- Prior customer service experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods while communicating effectively by computer/keyboard or telephone.
- Comfortable handling moderate workplace stress.
- Work environment noise may range from moderate to high.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, squat, and stoop as needed.

Schedule and Work Details
This is an onsite position in Elkridge, Maryland. No travel is required. The work schedule is Tuesday through Thursday from 4:00 pm to 12:00 am EST, Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm EST, and Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm EST. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this role.
Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $23.87 to $28.08.
