ജോലി വിവരണം

Role overview

The Light Distillate Trader role focuses on building and running integrated trading approaches for Asia and East-of-Suez light distillate markets, including gasoline, NGL and LPG. The position aims to capture profit opportunities across Chevron’s own system and selected third-party opportunities while staying within risk parameters.

This position brings together hands-on physical trading, such as cargoes, term and spot supply, blending economics and logistics coordination, with paper trading tools like swaps and futures to manage exposure. Success in the role depends on strong market insight, fast and sound judgment, and consistent compliance with company standards and Operational Excellence expectations.

What you will do

  • Handle physical trading of naphtha, mogas and related components in East-of-Suez markets, using both spot and term structures to improve Chevron’s position and support profit generation, including third-party opportunities where they add value.
  • Create and execute trading plans based on market structure, arbitrage indicators, and supply-demand trends across the region.
  • Track NGL and LPG movements, route economics, and infrastructure changes that may affect trading outcomes.
  • Coordinate closely with operations, shipping and commercial support teams to make sure operational needs are clearly shared and that position updates, strategy changes and support requirements are communicated accurately.
  • Partner with analytical teams to spot emerging patterns, assess value creation, and strengthen trading decisions.
  • Control market exposure using derivatives such as swaps, futures and options across different time frames while remaining within internal risk limits.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with brokers, counterparties and internal teams to improve market intelligence.
  • Follow compliance requirements and Chevron’s Operational Excellence principles in every trading activity.

Required profile

The role calls for prior trading exposure in NGL, naphtha or gasoline, along with a solid grasp of both physical and paper instruments and hedging methods. Candidates should be able to analyze complex situations quickly, make practical decisions under pressure, and communicate and negotiate effectively.

A strong personal drive toward long-term success is important. The position also requires flexibility around working hours to support the pace of a busy trading desk, and occasional travel may be needed.

Preferred background

Exposure to refining economics, blending and arbitrage flows, both in East-of-Suez markets and globally, will be an advantage. A good understanding of the NGL value chain from production through fractionation, transport and market delivery is also preferred. Experience of 3+ years in refined products trading is desirable.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered for this position.
