Lead - Hardware Engineer

Role Overview

This opening is for a Lead Hardware Engineer to join the Automation & Controls team in Shirwal, working on design and development of control systems for pharma machinery. The role calls for strong hands-on experience in panel design, EPLAN, electrical hardware selection, and schematic development.

Job Objective

The main goal of this role is to lead hardware control design configuration work in line with master references, global regulatory requirements, and internal guidelines so production machines are delivered on time and in full.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate hardware engineering work within the Automation & Controls function.
• Review key project inputs such as URS deviation lists, sales order scope, P&ID/flow charts, project schedules, and change requests.
• Set up projects in EPLAN P8, prepare BOMs, and connect the work with Teamcenter and ERP systems.
• Release customer master hardware schematics and IIoT tag lists.
• Work with the purchasing team on SOB generation and assist with retrofit and spare parts requirements.
• Check welding fixtures and inspection gauges during new project launches.
• Carry out supplier and process audits, risk reviews, and compliance checks against IS, IEC, CE, and UL standards.
• Train suppliers and internal team members on PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and complaint handling practices.
• Lead root-cause analysis and improvement efforts using 7QC tools, 8D, Kaizen, and Poka Yoke methods.
• Partner with design, manufacturing, and QA teams to improve process capability and maintain quality standards.

Education and Experience

Applicants should hold a BE degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation. The role requires 7 to 10 years of experience in panel design, EPLAN software, electrical hardware selection, schematic design, and control systems development, preferably within pharma machinery.
