Role Overview
This is a full-time, entry-level to junior position for a meticulous and analytical Junior Data Analyst based in the United States. The role is suited to recent graduates and early-career professionals who want to build hands-on experience using data to support business decisions and operational improvements.
What You’ll Do
- Gather data from a mix of internal and external sources, then clean, verify, and structure it for use.
- Review datasets to surface trends, patterns, irregularities, and practical business takeaways.
- Create and update reports, dashboards, and visual representations of data for decision support.
- Track key performance indicators and other important business metrics on an ongoing basis.
- Work with stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations drawn from data analysis.
- Check data for quality, consistency, and accuracy across systems and reporting tools.
- Retrieve, reshape, and transform data using spreadsheets, databases, and reporting software.
- Assist with forecasting, trend review, business performance reviews, and one-off analytical requests.
- Maintain documentation for data sources, reporting workflows, analysis methods, and findings.
- Partner with teams across operations, finance, marketing, HR, sales, and technology.
- Look for ways to streamline reporting and make data easier to access and use.
- Keep up with analytics tools, business intelligence platforms, and current best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- A foundational grasp of data analysis, statistics, reporting, and business intelligence concepts.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts, and analysis features.
- SQL knowledge for querying and handling data is preferred.
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or similar visualization tools is a plus.
- Basic familiarity with databases, data structures, and reporting approaches.
- Exposure to Python, R, or similar analytical languages is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving ability and sound critical thinking.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
- Clear communication and presentation skills, especially when speaking to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related area is preferred.
