IT Project Manager (MSP)

About the Role

FusionTek is a managed service provider serving small and mid-sized businesses with IT infrastructure management and support. The company has offices in Kirkland, Washington; Federal Way, Washington; Washington, DC; and Tampa, Florida, and has been operating since 2007. It is expanding its team and looking for an experienced IT Project Manager who performs well in a fast-moving environment, works closely with clients, and understands IT services and project execution.

In this position, you will guide IT projects from start to finish, keeping delivery on track for schedule, scope, and budget. You will act as a central contact for clients, help align internal teams, and contribute to strong service delivery outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Create and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Supervise project engineers and manage the team in a people-manager capacity, including coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Own part of the department’s success by understanding profitability, resource allocation, and how project work affects MSP growth.
• Serve as the main client contact for project communications, status updates, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate technical resources so assigned tasks are completed according to the plan.
• Keep project documentation accurate, including plans, schedules, budgets, change orders, and closeout records.
• Identify possible risks early, track them, and take action to reduce impact.
• Manage scope changes through a formal change-control process to avoid scope creep and keep work aligned with business goals.
• Lead projects from initiation through completion while ensuring client satisfaction and intended outcomes.
• Run meetings and regular stakeholder updates to share progress and clear blockers.
• Bring together cross-functional teams and maintain clear communication across staff, clients, and vendors.
• Review and provide feedback on non-technical project hour estimates.
• Conduct post-project reviews and share lessons learned with the team to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

The role calls for a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Business Administration, or a similar field, or equivalent real-world experience. A minimum of 4 years of project management experience in an MSP environment is required.

You should have direct experience working with clients, vendors, and internal technical teams in a high-paced service setting, along with a proven ability to manage several IT projects at once. PMP certification is preferred, though other relevant project management credentials are also valued.

Technical Knowledge and Professional Skills

• Solid grasp of IT concepts, infrastructure, and managed services, with the ability to explain technical ideas clearly to clients.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Experience using PSA and project management platforms such as ConnectWise Manage, Autotask, Asana, or Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of ITSM frameworks and standard best practices.
• Strong organization and time management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a client-focused approach.
• Ability to spot risks early and apply practical mitigation plans.
• Careful attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and follow-through.
• Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively.

• Annual salary range of $90,000 to $110,000.
