Role Overview

The Innovation Specialist will help deliver a major light rail infrastructure programme by bringing practical digital collaboration and visual management into everyday project execution. The focus of the role is to improve adoption, governance, and ongoing refinement of the programme’s digital collaboration platform, ThinkHub, so that tools, workflows, and live data support coordination, decision-making, and performance in active delivery settings.

Key Responsibilities

This role centres on embedding collaborative digital working into the rhythm of project delivery, building useful and well-governed workflows, connecting data and systems, facilitating problem-solving sessions, and improving how teams use the platform over time.

Digital Collaboration and Visual Management

  • Introduce digital boards and visual workflows into everyday delivery activities such as stand-ups, coordination meetings, design reviews, and planning sessions.
  • Promote consistent use of collaborative ways of working across projects and teams.

Workflows, Templates, and Governance

  • Create and maintain programme-approved workflows, templates, and visual management tools such as VIS boards, RAID logs, and process maps.
  • Make sure the content remains appropriate in scope, easy to use, and aligned with programme governance and control requirements.

Integration with Project Data and Systems

  • Work with planning, project controls, reporting, and digital engineering systems to improve integration.
  • Help teams review and update live information during workshops and delivery sessions.
  • Cut down on duplicated effort and manual reporting.

Workshop Facilitation and Delivery Support

  • Run practical workshops, design coordination sessions, and issue-resolution sessions focused on current delivery challenges.
  • Use visual methods to strengthen alignment and improve decision-making.

Adoption, Training, and Continuous Improvement

  • Track platform usage and effectiveness, collect feedback, and refine the tools and guidance accordingly.
  • Provide training, coaching, and hands-on support across teams.
  • Promote pragmatic innovation that is focused on outcomes and day-to-day value.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong ability to facilitate discussions and communicate clearly.
  • Organised, practical, and delivery-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable working across digital systems and project teams.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting delivery teams in project or programme environments, with substantial exposure to digital ways of working.
  • Proven background in creating, managing, or improving structured workflows, templates, or information systems in line with governance expectations.
  • Good exposure to project data, controls, planning, BIM/digital engineering, or reporting environments, with strong systems understanding and no development background required.
  • Experience leading workshops, reviews, or improvement sessions that address real delivery issues.
  • Background in owning and improving systems, processes, or capabilities, including training, coaching, and user adoption.
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in a related field.

Benefits and Additional Information

  • Full-time position.
  • Competitive pay and a broad benefits package.
  • 8% pension contribution.
  • 23 days of annual leave plus 2 company days.
  • Opportunity to contribute to impactful and innovative projects.
  • Career growth opportunities in Ireland and internationally.
  • Chance to work with a diverse, talented, and collaborative team.
