Role overview

The Sydney ICT team is looking for an energetic and driven IT Support Engineer to support daily technology operations and grow into a long-term career in information technology. This position offers practical exposure to a wide variety of hardware, software and business systems used in a national construction environment, along with structured learning and close guidance from experienced IT professionals.

Key responsibilities

Working under the ICT Manager, you will handle day-to-day support tasks while building technical capability through hands-on work and formal development.

• Prepare, configure and roll out new laptops and desktop workstations.
• Provide support for a broad mix of business applications and software tools.
• Log, track and update IT equipment and assets in asset management systems.
• Help maintain servers and network-related infrastructure.
• Respond to internal help requests and service desk tickets, and work through them to resolution.
• Support user accounts, desktop tools and operational business systems.
• Assist with diagnosing hardware faults, carrying out upgrades and replacing components when required.
• Take part in ICT initiatives and process improvement activities.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in technology, a practical mindset and the willingness to learn on the job. A background in IT study, certifications or prior support experience would be an advantage, though it is not mandatory.

• Strong enthusiasm for information technology and a desire to build a lasting career in the field.
• Interest in both hardware and software environments.
• Interest in artificial intelligence, with some experience using or supporting AI tools or related platforms.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting ability.
• Clear communication and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude and careful attention to detail.
• Relevant IT training, certifications or support experience is preferred but not essential.
