About the Role

The Network Administrator will oversee the setup, day-to-day management, monitoring, and protection of the organization’s network environment. The position focuses on keeping the infrastructure highly available, tuned for performance, and aligned with security and compliance expectations, while also spotting risks early and driving continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and apply IT policies, procedures, and compliance controls across network operations, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, VPNs, proxies, DNS security, and related tools, in line with internal and regulatory requirements.

Support adherence to SAMA ITGF, PCI DSS, and other applicable standards, including network operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity requirements.

Help configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, wireless access points, load balancers, and similar infrastructure.

Diagnose repeated network issues, determine the underlying causes, and implement durable corrective actions.

Work with other technology teams to ensure network services integrate smoothly and continue to support business operations effectively.

Contribute to network capacity planning and performance tuning so the environment can meet present and future demand.

Take part in network upgrades, migrations, and project work, aiming for secure implementation with minimal service disruption.

Assist in evaluating and introducing new network tools or solutions, including vendor coordination and testing activities.

Assess network products and services and recommend options that fit both technical and business needs.

Support the maintenance and execution of the IT disaster recovery plan so critical services can be restored quickly with limited downtime.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required.

Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or an equivalent credential are strongly preferred.

The role calls for 4 to 6 years of experience in network administration or network operations, ideally within banking or financial services.

Practical exposure to enterprise network platforms from vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar systems is needed.

Skills and Knowledge

Strong grasp of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.

Working knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting network equipment.

Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing platforms such as OpenText, SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, ServiceNow, and similar tools.

Understanding of network operations practices, protocols, and service continuity principles.

Ability to monitor system performance, manage incidents and changes, and maintain 24/7 operational stability.

Sound awareness of banking regulations and compliance expectations, with the ability to interpret and apply them in network operations.

Strong written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to influence executives and cross-functional teams.

Capacity to evaluate hypothetical scenarios, identify operational risks, and spot weaknesses in network processes.
